Elder Abuse Awareness Day Program Set for June 2

Loudoun County’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services’ Area Agency on Aging and the Department of Family Services’ Adult and Aging Unit will host a free community event for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Tuesday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.          

The Loudoun County World Elder Abuse Awareness Day program will be held at The Lodge at Hanson Park, located at 23394 Endeavor Drive, in Aldie.              

The theme of this year’s event is Safe. Housed. Protected. A Call to Action for Older Adults in Loudoun County. This event will shed light on the fastest-growing group of people experiencing homelessness in the United States, adults aged 50 and older.  

Loudoun County’s World Elder Abuse Awareness Day program is designed for caregivers, community partners, law enforcement, social workers, attorneys, and healthcare professionals to bring awareness to issues such as protecting older and vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
