April 1 Meeting Against Valley Commerce Rezoning to be held at Carver Center
Concerned residents in Purcellville are organizing a grassroots community meeting on Wednesday, April 1, at 5:30 p.m. at the Carver Center located at 200 E Willie Palmer Way to coordinate opposition to the proposed rezoning of the Valley Commerce Center.
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a public hearing on the rezoning application for April 15 at 6 p.m. at the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg, Virginia.
The meeting comes at a pivotal time as local leaders consider a proposal that could significantly reshape the area. The rezoning application would convert approximately 117 acres along Purcellville Road from Rural Residential (JLMA-3) to Industrial Park (PD-IP), paving the way for a one-million-square-foot industrial business park situated between the Mayfair and Wright Farms communities.
The April 1 meeting will focus on sharing information, organizing community efforts, and developing coordinated strategies to respond to the proposal.
Organizers are urging residents to attend the hearing, sign up to speak, email the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors at bos@loudoun.gov and demonstrate strong community engagement. For advanced sign-up call 703-777-0200.
