Arrest made in malicious wounding incident

A Warrenton, Virginia, man has been arrested and charged in connection with the malicious wounding that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 17, in the parking lot of the 500 block of East Market Street.

Mason A. Hodges, 19, of Warrenton, VA, was arrested by the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office on July 1. He is currently being held at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center pending transport to Loudoun County. Hodges has been charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding in connection with the incident. A motion for bond is scheduled for July 7.

A second individual who was at the scene has been identified, and after a thorough review of the evidence, investigators have determined that no charges will be filed.

On May 17, 2025, at approximately 2:18 a.m., Leesburg Police officers responded to a report of a large fight in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying unconscious on the ground with significant injuries to his head and face. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and later released.
