LCSO Arrests Georgia man for abduction of a 3-year-old in Ashburn

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect following a child abduction in Ashburn on Sunday, March 9.

At approximately 7:28 p.m., deputies responded to the 43000 block of Central Station Drive after receiving reports that a 3-year-old child had been forcibly taken by an unknown male at a local restaurant. The child’s mother intervened immediately, recovering her child before the suspect could leave the scene. There were no injuries to the child. 

After an on-scene investigation, LCSO was able to identify the suspect as Shane Paul Bergeron, 34, of Jefferson, Georgia. Bergeron was later taken into custody at a nearby hotel. 

Bergeron has been charged with Abduction by Force and is currently being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
