Remembering Mary “Snooks” Trigger
Mary “Snooks” Trigger, 75, a longtime Loudoun County resident most recently in Roanoke, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday Feb. 4, 2025 just after midnight.

Daughter of Victor R. and Mary F. Berliner, she was predeceased by her older brother Victor F. Berliner and survived by brothers Alfred “Gene” Berliner, Richard “Bird Dog” Berliner and sister Charlotte “CC” Tincher, as well as extended family. Snooks was a graduate of Loudoun County High School and Old Dominion University.
Snooks had a multitude of interests and working experiences in her lifetime. She was an avid equestrian, participating in Pony Clubs in both New Jersey and Virginia, competing in Nationals twice and internationally, fox hunt clubs, and raising her own horses.
She was always up for adventure at the drop of a hat. Road trips were a passion whether local, cross-country or up and down the east coast with friends, family, to check out horses, adventure/water parks, or just for the heck of it.
Known to eat dessert before dinner, Snooks enjoyed trying new places and foods but made sure to get her black-eyed peas and hog jaws every New Year. Employment experiences included insurance administration, as a vet tech, in construction, as an ER unit secretary at the old Loudoun Memorial Hospital (Cornwall), and various local restaurants, hotels, and gas stations expanding her social circle.
Those who knew Snooks recognized her quick sense of humor, her tendency to dance to the beat of her own drum, and would often refer to her as a “hoot.”
Friends are welcome to join the family for a celebration of life at Magnolias in Purcellville, Virginia at 1 p.m. on Saturday March 1, 2025. Please send RSVP to cctincher@yahoo.com by Feb. 19.
Snooks’ final resting place will be in Mississippi beside her parents.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends with the laughter and smiles shared. As Snooks would say “Rock On!”
