Additional Leesburg Zoning Ordinance input scheduled for Feb. 20

Representatives from Kendig Keast Collaborative, the consultants leading the comprehensive rewrite of the Leesburg Zoning Ordinance, will host two open house-style meetings to present their proposed changes to the first half of the Zoning Ordinance on Wednesday, Feb. 14, and Thursday, Feb. 15. A third meeting covering the same topics, led by Town staff, has been scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 20.

The revised schedule of open house meetings is:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 14
    6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    Ida Lee Park Recreation Center
  • Thursday, Feb. 15
    10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Leesburg Town Hall
  • Tuesday, Feb. 20
    7 to 8:30 p.m.
    Leesburg Town Hall

Each meeting will begin with a brief presentation summarizing the content of the first four articles of the draft ordinance and highlighting the changes from the current ordinance.

Interested parties are welcome to drop in at any time during the meetings. Excerpts of the new text and sample illustrations will be on display. Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with the consultants or staff and to provide comments and feedback.

A second round of open house meetings will be held in the summer to provide an overview of the second half of the new Zoning Ordinance and opportunities for public input and feedback.

The Zoning Ordinance rewrite project began in July 2023 and is expected to be completed with the adoption of the new Zoning Ordinance by the Town Council in the summer of 2025. Up-to-date project information is available on the Town website at www.leesburgva.gov/zoningordinancerewrite, including a link to sign up for email notifications about the project.
