Purcellville man and woman charged in multiple burglary investigations

Samuel Jenkins III, 46, of Purcellville, has been charged with one count of burglary and one count of public intoxication. Abigail Laura, 38, of Purcellville, has been charged with two counts of burglary, one count of larceny, one count of destruction of property, and one count of drug possession. The charges stem from multiple investigations.

On Thursday, Jan. 18, Officers with the Leesburg Police Department were dispatched to a business located in the 0 block of North King Street for a report of a burglary. The business’ representative advised that earlier that morning at shortly before 3 a.m., a male and a female entered the closed business and stole property. Through an investigation, Samuel Jenkins III and Abigail Laura were identified as the suspects and were each subsequently charged for their involvement.

On Friday, Jan. 26, Officers with the Leesburg Police Department were dispatched to a business located in the 100 block of North Street NW for a report of a burglary. The business’ representative advised that earlier that morning at shortly after midnight, a female entered the closed business and stole property. Through an investigation, Abigail Laura was identified as the suspect and was subsequently charged for her involvement.

That evening, a Leesburg Police Officer stopped to check the welfare of a subject who was unsteady on his feet in the 600 block of East Market Street. The officer identified the male as Samuel Jenkins III and a female that he was with as Abigail Laura. Jenkins was arrested for public intoxication and on an outstanding warrant. Laura was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants.

The two were transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where they both remain held on no bond.
