Leesburg man charged with possession of child pornography

Christopher Collins, 33, of Leesburg, has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography.

The charge stems from a cyber tip relating to child pornography. Upon receipt of the tip, a Leesburg police detective assigned to the NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted an investigation and determined that Christopher Collins was in possession of sexually explicit material involving a child.

Collins was taken into custody without incident on the morning of Sept. 7, at his home, located in the 600 block of Constellation Square SE.  A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence.

Local, state, and federal law enforcement partners from the NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, including but not limited to, Virginia State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and United States Secret Service assisted in this investigation.

Collins remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
