Three juveniles charged in assault investigation

Three middle-school aged juveniles have each been charged with one count of aggravated sexual battery. Each of the charged juveniles were remanded to the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center on detention orders.

The charges stem from a report to law enforcement late last month of a juvenile student who may have been assaulted by another juvenile student or students at Smart’s Mill Middle School.

Pursuant to the report, the Leesburg Police Department in conjunction with Loudoun County Public Schools initiated an investigation into the incident. The Leesburg Police Department investigation revealed that the victim had been assaulted by the suspects at the school during the current school year. No injuries have been reported by the victim.

The case now pends adjudication in the Loudoun County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
